AirQo (the “Project”) is committed to maintaining robust privacy protections for its users. Our Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) is designed to help you understand how we collect, use and safeguard the information you provide to us and to assist you in making informed decisions when using our Service.

For purposes of this Agreement, “Application” refers to the Project’s mobile applications, which can be accessed at Google Play or App Store. “Service” refers to the Project’s services accessed via the mobile applications, in which users can know the air quality of their surrounding places, (description of other services). The terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Project. “You” refers to you, as a user of our mobile application or our Service. By accessing our mobile applications or our Service, you accept our Privacy Policy and you consent to our collection, storage, use and disclosure of your Personal and Non-Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy.

COLLECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION

We collect “Non-Personal Information” and “Personal Information.” Non-Personal Information includes information that cannot be used to personally identify you, such as anonymous usage data, general demographic information we may collect, platform types, preferences you submit and preferences that are generated based on the data you submit. Personal Information includes your email, phone number, names which you submit to us through the feedback process of the mobile application and responding to surveys. The information we collect depends on the content and materials you use and includes:

Demographic and other personally identifiable information (such as your name and email address) that you voluntarily give to us when choosing to participate in various activities related to the Application, such as sending feedback, and responding to surveys.

Geo-Location Information

We may request access or permission to and track location-based information from your mobile device, either continuously or while you are using the Application, to provide location-based services. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s settings.

Mobile Device Data

Device information such as your mobile device ID number, model, and manufacturer, version of your operating system, and any other data you choose to provide.

Crash logs and Diagnostics

Crash log data from your app, for example, the number of times your app has crashed, stack traces, or other information related to crashes and Information about the performance of your app for example, battery life, loading time, latency, framerate, or technical diagnostics.

Push Notifications

We may request to send you push notifications regarding the Application. If you wish to opt out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device’s settings.

In general, the Personal and non-Personal Information you provide to us is used to :

• Compile anonymous statistical data and analysis for use internally.

• Deliver targeted newsletters and other information regarding air quality and the Application to you.

• Email you regarding air quality.

• Generate a personal profile about you to make future visits to the Application more personalized.

• Increase the efficiency and operation of the Application.

• Monitor and analyse usage and trends to improve your experience with the Application.

• Notify you of updates to the Application.

• Request feedback and contact you about your use of the Application.

• Respond to product and service requests.

• Resolve disputes and troubleshoot problems.

DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, we do not sell, trade, rent or otherwise share for marketing purposes your Personal and Non-Personal Information with third parties without your consent. We share Personal Information with vendors who are performing services for the Project, such as the servers for our email communications who are provided access to your email address to send emails from us. Those vendors use your Personal Information only at our direction and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, these measures do not guarantee that your information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of such firewalls and secure server software. By using our Service, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.

POLICY FOR CHILDREN

The Application is not directed to anyone under the age of 13. The Application does not knowingly collect or solicit information from anyone under the age of 13. In the event that we learn that we have gathered personal information from anyone under the age of 13 without the consent of a parent or guardian, we will delete that information as soon as possible. The Project reserves the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the “Last Updated” date of this Privacy Policy. You will be deemed to have been made aware of, will be subject to, and will be deemed to have accepted the changes in any revised Privacy Policy by your continued use of the Application after the date the revised Privacy Policy is posted.
